Iron Poisoning Test
Iron poisoning test, exposure to Iron heavy metals or chemicals or compounds that contain Iron can cause Iron toxicity in the human body. You could be suffering from Iron poisoning symptoms, simple home health check to see your Iron exposure levels.
Health related problems caused my Iron exposure
Iron poisoning by ingestion causes pain in the stomach, as the stomach lining becomes ulcerated. This is followed by nausea and vomiting. The pain recedes for 24 hours as the iron passes deeper into the body and damages internal organs, particularly the brain and the liver, and metabolic acidosis develops. The body goes into shock and death from liver failure.
Iron poisoning
Iron poisoning is caused by excessive iron intake. Ferrous iron is soluble and its toxicity varies, largely with the integrity of the gastrointestinal lining, checking water for iron can determine the quantities in the water sample.
Contents of Iron test kit
-
1 Colour strip on box of the kit
-
1 Test Instruction Sheet
-
1 Large Test-tube
-
1 Indicator stick
1 vial with clear cap - Reagent 1 (contains 10% sulphuric acid and care must be taken as it is corrosive - please avoid contact with skin or eyes)
Preparation of test for Iron
- Remove the indicator stick and small vial from the large test tube
- In the empty large test-tube, add 5 ml. of the solution to be tested
- The solution is now ready for testing
Conducting the test for Iron toxins
- Pour the contents from clear-cap vial (colourless Reagent 1) into the large test-tube. Note: the pH of this solution to be tested should be at 1 or less at this time
- Put the indicator stick into the mixed solutions (now turned acidic) in the large test-tube for one (1) second. Note: The reaction surface of the indicator stick must be completely immersed into the mixed solutions in the large test-tube
- Remove the indicator stick from the large test-tube and wait for 15 seconds
- Compare the colour on the reaction surface of the indicator stick to that of the colour strip provided
How to test for Iron in the body
- Add the required volume of the sample solution (saliva, water, urine, etc) to be tested for Iron into the test tube
- Close with the cap and shake gently. Allow the solutions to stand on the cap of the test tube for 1 minute.
- A colour change will indicate the presence of Iron (chart on label of kit).
Results from Iron testing kit
Result is measured accurately in parts per million. Tests the presence of ions of Iron to a high degree of accuracy to detect contamination in the body, water and on a wide range of materials in your environment
