Description
Simplitude ByMe HIV Home Test Kit
This simple test@home HIV test is performed by placing a small drop of blood onto the test drip tray with the test fluid (see instructions included in the set for further details)
A visbile line will indicate if the sample containcs antibodies to HIV.
This is a single use test is intended to be used by untrained users in a personal/private setting to help diagnose infection with HIV-1 or HIV-2 from samples of fresh blood. The test kits contains, 1 kit, easy to follow instructions, support card, discreet disposal bag and adhesive bandage.
Limitations – The test may not detect any HIV infection that has occurred within 3 months of testing. Positive results should be confirmed by a healthcare professional.
HIV
There are 2 types of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV): HIV-1 and HIV-2. If you are infected with either HIV-1 or HIV-2, your immune system will generate antibodies against either virus type.
Being HIV positive is a manageable condition and people living with HIV are able to live long, active and healthy lives. The HIV Self Test is a screening test and getting a positive test result does not necessarily mean that you have HIV. If the test result is positive, you need to go for follow up testing at a healthcare facility. Early diagnosis of HIV means treatment can start sooner. Refer to the support card within the test kit.
