Where do Krill Live?

The Antarctic krill lives in the coldest and most pristine waters on earth, providing only high quality ingredients for making our krill supplements. Aker Bio Marine™ work with world wildlife foundation Norway to ensure sustainable harvesting of this valuable deep sea marine creature.

Compare the difference between krill oil and omega 3 found in fish oils

Krill are a small shrimp-like crustaceans that are abundant in the Antarctic sea, they are very nutritious and packed full of vitamins and omegas. Great for maintaining joint health they are extremely high in omega-3, EPA and DHA in comparison with regular fish oil.

Its important that we get enough essential fatty acids from our diet as the body cannot produce these naturally but they are vital for our health. Recent research from scientific studies has concluded that the ratio of essential fatty acids omega 3 content of krill oils can be up to 48x more potent when compared with regular liquid fish oils, so the equivalent amount of krill oil versus fish oils required to get the same benefits is much less.

Krill oil is considered a better than fish oil because of astaxanthin that protects perishable fats and the phospholipids found in krill that increase the omega-3 fats absorption.

Nova supplies one of the top brands you won’t find on the high street, other cheaper capsules are no substitute for our krill 500mg capsules.

Cheaper supplements may well be mixed with other oils and not sourced from sustainable fisheries.

In fish oil, omega 3 fatty acids are found in the triglyceride form, in krill oil, they are joined in a phospholipid structure.

Scientific studies and research suggest the main benefits are due to the phospholipid structure, it makes the oils highly absorbent, and as such they can rapidly penetrate cellular nucleus.

Phospholipids (PLFA) molecules that play a very important roll in cell communication as well as helping to maintain a healthy heart, liver and brain.
