The SELFCHECK Menopause test kit measures your follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) level in a urine sample. There is no single test by itself that can diagnose menopause with full certainty. Nevertheless, FSH is the traditional biomarker used in hospital laboratories, and a persistent, high level of FSH is an indication that you may have reached menopause.

As the levels of FSH can fluctuate markedly, particularly in women approaching menopause, each test kit contains two tests to test on different occasions. If both tests indicate high FSH levels then you should speak with your doctor before making any changes to lifestyle or medication.
